The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama presented by Legacy will feature the most dominant names in the IndyCar Series, including Danica Patrick, Dario Franchitti, Will Power, and more. In addition, the weekend will include the Grand‐Am Rolex Series featuring the Porsche 250 race, as well as the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Fan Walks on Pit Lane, autograph sessions and much more. Throughout the weekend, kids 12 and under receive free general admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult."

The 2012 Honda Grand Prix of St. Alabama will mark the first race for the new IZOD IndyCar Series car, which replaces the current chassis introduced in 2003. The event will also mark the beginning of a new form of competition among engine manufacturers with three different engines, Honda, Chevrolet and Lotus, competing for track leadership. St. Alabama resident and reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Dan Wheldon was the first to test the new car last week at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
